Gorgeous Things Are These

I have gorgeous things to celebrate today at Donuts & Desires, and these gorgeous things are NEW COVERS!

Two upcoming releases from lyd Alterotica means two fabulous covers by two very talented artists:

Coming June 11th, 2010 to loveyoudivine:

Spring Fever by Giselle Renarde
Cover art by Dawné Dominique
http://dawnedominique.com
Dotschy doesn't want to think about love everlasting. When spring comes around and she can't stop smiling at Connor the sweet and sensitive semi-closet trans-curious sometimes-cross-dresser, she convinces herself it's just infatuation. That doesn't stop her from wanting him, though. It doesn't stop her from getting him either.

Coming June 25, 2010 to loveyoudivine:

Secrets of the Solstice Sacrifice by Giselle Renarde
Cover art by Emmy Ellis

Professor Selyf is a fay magical, a solitary academic who lives near the mythical village of Gwyllion on a Welsh hillside. When a knock at the door interrupts him from his manuscript, he curses the intruders--until he gets a look at them! The ginger boy, Bedwyn, he doesn't much care for, but Trysta, his beautiful cara, awakens Selyf's heart and the sleeping serpent within.

Trysta has a "female problem," as Bedwyn puts it, and needs the professor's audience. She and Bedwyn are mixed-bloods--half human, half fay. When Trysta's mother conceived her, she wished for a little girl. The fae have a unique ability to select their children's genders with simple wishes, but since Trysta's system contained "stagnant" human blood, the wish only half succeeded. Trysta was born a girl with one particular boy part.

Bedwyn doesn't know the true nature of Trysta's "female problem," and she asks Selyf to help her resolve it so she can finally share her body with her caru. As a guest in Selyf's home, Trysta grows as attracted to the professor's magical intellect as he is to her beauty. The desire to give in to temptation mounts, particularly when Selyf realizes the only way to resolve Trysta's problem involves a sexual sacrifice on the solstice.

Are you excited? I'm excited!

Hugs,
Giselle

Never Too Many Sex Toys

Have I mentioned recently that I can no longer close my night table drawer because it is so jam-packed with sex toys?

Yeah...it's true.

I love sex toys. Vibrators, primarily, but I've got all kinds of stuff in there--a strap-on (Sophia's Red Rider, to be exact), some anal beads, lots of lube...crikey, I don't even know what else is buried in there. Maybe it's time to dig some stuff out.

Oh, silk scarves, *wink wink nudge nudge" some old cock rings, another vibe, a third vibe, latex gloves...a cat leash? I don't think this is supposed to be in here. *throws leash over shoulder, cats shriek and race from the bedroom*

So, now I would like to offer a fond hello and a big hug to the fine people at Adult Sex Toys .com. They've shown me such love and support recently that I'd like to return the favour by recommending you check out their site, adultsextoys.com.

In particular, they carry a line called "Intimate Organics," which includes clitoral gels, massage oils, foaming bath, and even an anal spray which "gently relaxes the anus for easy penetration, allowing the user to still be aware of all sensations." That sounds pretty kick-ass, if you ask me. Oh...that was a weird choice of words. It sounds, "intriguing"--how about that? *grins*

Anyway, the point is that these products are certified organic...and organic is only an S&M away from orgasmic, am I right? (Well, if you forget about the n...)

Oh, and, as the kind of girl who never wants to spend more than she has to on anything (Sweet's telling to save all these words and just admit I'm cheap LOL), I have a fond appreciation for their $10 or Less section. You would not believe the number of vibes, dildos, penis extenders, and other fun thingies they've got!

As my night table drawer will attest, you can never have too many sex toys!
Have fun tonight!
Hugs,
Giselle Renarde

Authors: A Pride Month Call for Submissions!

Thanks to Jay Hartman of Untreed Reads for organizing 30 days of LGBT writing. What a great way to celebrate Pride Month! If you're a reader, you'll no doubt have some great mainstream LGBT stories to choose from. If you're an LGBT author, put your submissions hat on and get your work in soon!

Permission to re-post granted:

As most of you know, June is Pride Month. As many of you may NOT know,
Untreed Reads Publishing has a special short story line entitled
"Diversity" which showcases the best in short story writing from all
minority groups whether it be LGBT, African-American, Latino, Native
American, etc..

In honor of Pride Month, Untreed Reads' goal is to publish 30 brand-new
LGBT short stories to the "Diversity" line, one each day. Submissions
can cover any topic except erotica. We prefer short stories that have
romantic elements to them, rather than stories that would be categorized
specifically as romance. Mysteries, sci-fi, literature and horror are
especially welcome.

All titles are subject to our regular submission and royalty guidelines,
which can be found at http://www.untreedreads.com/?page_id= 1039. All
titles will be available for sale through the Untreed Reads website,
Smashwords, AllRomance/OmniLit, Scribd.com, 1Romance (for those titles
with romantic elements to them), Amazon and will be submitted to Sony,
B&N and Apple. All will be heavily promoted as well. Short story titles
must be 5,000 words or less. Flash fiction is also accepted. Also, just
because we fill up all 30 days of spots does NOT mean we will
automatically reject other stories. We may choose to publish them later
in the line.

When submitting, please indicate "Diversity Submission" in your subject
line. Deadline for submissions is June 10th.

Please feel free to cross-post this request to all of your reading
lists, groups, blogs, etc..

As a gay man running an independent publishing house, I look forward to
helping to shine a spotlight on all of the great writers out there!

Best,
Jay Hartman

Second Cover for THIRD RAIL

Remember a sensual, moving, amusing, heart-wrenching, authentic transgender story called Third Rail?

"When did I become my own rival for your affections?"

Perhaps it is a touch unusual to have a girlfriend and boyfriend both living in the same body, but Kokoro doesn’t classify her relationship with Fiona and Martin as strange. Kokoro rides the third rail, a dutifully subservient lover to both aspects of her transgendered partner’s psyche. She goes home with Fiona at night, a transformation takes place, and she leaves the house with Martin the next morning. In between, Kokoro discovers that the dynamics of domination and submission aren’t necessarily rooted in black leather. The emotional interplay, “this game of wills,” as Fiona calls it, is a greater aphrodisiac than toy-shop trappings. Fiona is a willful Domme, even in her flowing white skirt and plain cotton panties.

Remember that one? Thought you might.

Well, Third Rail officially has a new cover. This cover places an emphasis on the gritty sexuality of Fiona/Martin's domination of Kokoro. It's pretty much the opposite of the old cover, wouldn't you say? The old one was romantic, almost whimsical. This one is challenging. It strips itself bare and shows you everything its got.

Anybody have a preference? Which cover do you like?

Why not pick up a copy of Third Rail and let me know which you think suits the story? You can buy it right now from All Romance ebooks!
(Oooh...Giselle's got a sly marketing ploy! LOL. At least I'm upfront about it.)

Hugs,
Giselle Renarde

Friday Night Promo Party!

I follow a blog called "Queer Unity," and every week they have "Shameless Self-Promotion Sunday." On Shameless Self-Promotion Sunday, they open comments up so anybody with a blog, a website, a gallery, or whatever can share it with the community.

I LOVE this idea! I've shamelessly self-promoted there on numerous occasions. This is payback, baby! I want to do the same thing here at Donuts & Desires.

If you're like me, you'll take every opportunity you can find to showcase your latest release. So go on! Do it! Tell us all about your latest blogpost, your best-selling e-book (or your sleeper hit that hasn't awoken quite yet LOL), your contest...anything! Remember, D&D is LGBTQ Friendly Space, so all genres are more than welcome!

Leave your urls, your buy links...tell us where to find you. Let's give the Friday Night Promo Party a huge send-off, and maybe just maybe we can do it every week.

And, hey, if you miss posting a promo/comment on Friday, do it Saturday, or Sunday, or...well, any day of the week. I can't wait to hear all about you, readers, and your work, authors.

Give it to me!
Hugs,
Giselle

You love a sexy story. You love a ghost story. You love a sexy ghost story.

You love Spirit Lovers!

Xcite Books has been around the block a few times. Now she's got a brand-spanking-new e-book imprint called Xcite e-Books! I'm a frequent contributor to their collections. The latest addition to the erotic anthology roster is Spirit Lovers-Volume 2! It's a great collection for lovers of paranormal erotica.

A collection of five erotic short stories with paranormal themes.

Widow’s Walk

By Giselle Renarde

In all the time Marley's produced and starred in his web-only paranormal series, Ghost Hunting on a Shoestring, he's never encountered a spectre like this one! Lottie haunts the Widow's Walk of a New England house, where she waits for her lost-at-sea fiancé to come home. As Marley discovers, rumours of Lottie's despair have been greatly exaggerated. She wants a man – any man – and this girl takes what she wants!

Halloween Surprise

By Roxanne Rhoads

Alcina and Estra are ready to enjoy everything Halloween has to offer them – food, fun, and, most of all – the pleasures of the flesh. After enjoying each other’s bodies for hours they decide it’s time to find a man. Luckily for Michael he’s the one that happens to cross their path. After quickly deciding that he is exactly what they were looking for, they convince him to take them back to his place for a wild Halloween ménage ‘a trios. He ends up getting more than he bargained for with a sexy, but shocking, Halloween surprise.

Third Time Lucky

by Kitti Bernetti

Sally can't seem to forget her old lover. Maybe it’s something to do with the day he jilted her at the altar. Something makes her journey back to the same old church every year to try and exorcise her demons. But for Sally, a mysteriously warm evening and a careless stroll through the eerie churchyard catapults her into a sinister world she had never imagined, one which co-exists on the fringes of our own. The extraordinary and unsettling lover she encounters there offers her delights she can only dream of, but what does he expect in return…?

The Washstand

By Elizabeth Coldwell

The Victorian washstand is a real bargain, but Ros never wonders why it might be quite so cheap – until she's woken by splashing noises in the middle of the night. Soon she is being visited by a ghostly figure with an exhibitionistic streak. But who is he – and how far will Ros have to go to grant him the release he craves?

The Tree

By Roger Frank Selby

An accomplished but plane-wrecked aviatrix, stranded on a desert island, would have a bleak sex life – one would imagine. But as all hopes of her rescue fade, naked in a leafy glade, she finds solace among the branches of a strange tree surrounded by exotic mushrooms. And who could resist toying with and sampling mushrooms shaped like … that?

Her waking relationship with the tree, its soft boughs and her playthings become woven into increasingly vivid dreams of a Viking invader. The mighty Bork and his longship crew are on an eternal quest to ravish her, until finally, reality itself is called into question.

You can buy this great collection directly from Xcite, from All Romance ebooks, or from Amazon!

Giselle Renarde

For All Queer Daughters of Heterocentric Mothers

It's mother's day. I wish I had something uplifting to say about that.

Last year I would have sung my mother's praises. I do love her, and she is quite a nice person overall, but she seems to be having a delayed negative reaction to my queerness.

I came out as queer years ago. Some people don't like that identification. My own girlfriend doesn't. Oh well. It's right for me. Anyway, my queerness isn't something I hide from my family. I don't pretend to be straight. Only now, I'm realizing how easy it is for the heterocentric masses to gloss over statements like, "My girlfriend and I went to the symphony." Oh, yes, you and your female friend. Nothing wrong with that. No, girlfriend. GIRLFRIEND. Significant other. Do I have to refer to her as my lover for people to understand how important this woman is to me? How crucial she is to daily life?

It's no wonder people think lesbians are too aggressive, or that gay men push their identities on a society of innocent bystanders. We are invisible otherwise! Even if we manage to hit home the point that, yes, I'm in queer relationship, aren't we most commonly written off as experimenting? Don't worry, Martha, it'll all blow over and she'll settle down with a nice boy soon enough and start pumping out grandchildren for you.

*bites knuckle* I promised myself I wouldn't rant...

Meanwhile, my girlfriend Sweet's homophobic mother has been taken to hospital again. She's dying of cancer. I don't know what more to say about that, so I'll just let it sit.

Sorry to be an aggressive lesbian. Nerves are a bit frayed these days. Please, please, give me some good news of good mothers. Please?

Hugs,
Giselle Renarde

An Erotic Spin on Anniversary Gifts: The Paper Year

I've been inspired.

Those who follow me on Twitter already know May 1st was the second anniversary of my first date with Sweet. (And those who don't follow me...why don't you follow me?) It was a total gift fail on both our parts. She bought me chocolates, but then I guess I did something to piss her off, so she ate them all herself. LOL. So I went out and bought her a cinnamon bun, and I ate that myself as payback.

Yeah, we are sooooooooo mature! hahaha...

Anyway, having anniversaries on my mind got me thinking about traditional anniversary gifts by year. Yeah, sure, those gifts were traditionally intended for wedding anniversaries, but why not celebrate a first date, first kiss, first fuck, or anything else momentous? Sweet and I celebrate our first date as our annual anniversary, and that's fine by us. We don't need to be married to celebrate our life together.

And thus begins a new feature here at Donuts and Desires: an erotic spin on traditional anniversary gifts! For those who haven't heard, there are traditional gifts for every anniversary.

The Paper Year

The traditional gift for a first anniversary is paper.

How can we spin this into an erotic gift? There are oh-so-many ways!

Love Letters

What a great place to start! Pick up some gorgeous stationary and get that pen in gear. If you read my work, your head is likely full of naughtiness to begin with. Let it all out!

At the one-year mark, write your sweety the kind of note that will move them. For a romantic, write a love letter. For a self-diagnosed nymph, write something hot and porny!

To commemorate the occasion of our first night together, Sweet and I wrote each other poetry. If you're really ambitious, try that!

Erotic Books

Well, of course I'm going to recommend buying a book on your paper anniversary! What kind of an author would I be if I didn't? There are so many theme anthologies out there. If you browse together, it gives you a chance to discuss fantasies and turn-ons as a couple.

Of course, I'm going to get in a plug for my bisexual novella Ondine, which is available from Amazon, but by all means buy a book you can enjoy as a couple. If you're daring, read to each other. If you're beyond daring, act out your favourite sex scene!

Those are my ideas for the paper anniversary. What are yours? Have you received any great paper gifts over the years? Do tell! We welcome new ideas! And be sure to come back next week for an erotic twist on the traditional second anniversary gift: cotton!

Hugs,
Giselle Renarde

Like That Spark: Erotic Stories of New Relationships

I forgot to mention I have a story in a great new Circlet Press anthology.

Like That Spark: Erotic Stories of New Relationships

Published By: Circlet Press, Inc.
ISBN # 978-1-885865-92-2
Word Count: 33,933
Heat Index

Categories: Sci-fi/Fantasy Erotica Short Stories

Like That Spark is a collection of short stories that explore the sensuality and eroticism of the moment when two characters finally realize they are meant to be together. These are tales of relationships and the beginnings of romantic and sexual connections. The stories here will challenge you and your notions of what constitutes a relationship in the first place. You will not find the common tame romance tale here.

Here erotic connections are represented by the science fiction and fantasy worlds; a realm of infinite possibilities. Nothing is ever as it seems. There are mythical kingdoms, distant planets, futuristic cities, surreal dreamscapes, sultry bedchambers, and even the furthest reaches of space to tempt and entice you.

Table of Contents:

Clear Sight in the Double Full Moon Night by Shawn Erin
A Balefire Chronicles Short Story: Poisonous Passions by Cynthia Gael
A Last Goodbye by Roxanne Rhoads
ToyGirls of the Personal Genome by Giselle Renarde
The Shock of the New by D Mark Alderton
Navigator by Kathleen Tudor
Passive Resistance by Josephine Myles

ToyGirls of the Personal Genome is a near-future cissexual/transsexual/intersex lesbian menage story. This story speculates on misuse of personal genomic information listed in a public index. In a near-future society where gender identity is no longer equated with genitalia, the trans and cisgender populations still hold privilege over intersex.

When twice-married, twice-divorced Roisin works up the nerve to visit a prostitute, she chooses Neo--a transsexual ToyGirl generated and farmed by a thief of the Personal Genome Index. At Neo's loft, Roisin meets Feather, Neo's intersex girlfriend who's been booted from the ToyGirls regime. In Feather, Roisin sees a twenty-year-old version of herself. She sold her personal genome to the Index years ago. Could Feather have been created from Roisin's stolen genome? Impossible! That would mean Roisin was born intersex too...

You can buy Like That Spark today! (Go for it! Whatcha waitin' for? It's great!)
