*EXTENDED* Call for Submissions: Sex Objects

Delilah Devlin has extended her call for Sex Objects: An Anthology of Erotic Romance Stories from July 1st to July 15th.  I didn't think I would have time to write anything up for this one, but with the extension, I think I'll have a go:

*~*~*~*~*~*
Sex Objects: An Anthology of Erotic Romance Stories
Editor: Delilah Devlin
Publisher: Cleis Press in Spring 2014
Deadline: July 1, 2013 July 15, 2013

Sex Objects: An Anthology of Erotic Romance Stories is open to all authors.

Editor Delilah Devlin is looking for hetero stories for a romantic erotica
anthology tentatively entitled Sex Objects: An Anthology of Erotic Romance
Stories.

High powered, high ranking...and in high heels.

The term "Sex Object" brings to mind a curvaceous starlet on a casting couch
or an iconic, bee-stung-lipped beauty being pursued by a powerful, capable
man. Turn that concept upside down by allowing the woman to objectify a
handsome, sensual man, using the concepts of role reversal and power play
but from a female perspective, and you have the makings of something
evocative and fun for the feminine, romance reading audience.

Imagine powerful women unafraid of going after the men they want...
* A beautiful divorcee stepping out for the first time as a single woman
with a paid male escort.
* The movie producer using the casting couch to lure the latest movie heart
throb into a torrid affair.
* A university professor calling a male grad student into conference to
discuss his "thesis. "
* A worldly corporate boss asking for "dictation&quo t; from her personal
assistant.

These women will be masters of their own domain, in charge and
proud...capable of using sex for pleasure' s sake...but ultimately succumbing
to the pull of desire created by the "objects" of their desire.

Sex Objects will seek contemporary stories, although the editor is open to a
futuristic or historical. Exotic, international settings will be considered.
Traditional themes/tropes can be used, but writers are encouraged to create
tales that surprise. Delilah seeks unique stories from authors with strong
voices, and above all, she's looking to be seduced by tales filled with
vivid imagery and passion.

Published authors with an established world may use that setting for their
original short story.

Keeping in mind that this volume is targeted at women, the editor seeks
mainly hetero stories, but will consider bisexual or lesbian encounters and
polyamorous relationships. This is erotic romance, so don't hold back on the
heat. Stories can be vanilla or filled with kink, but a deep sensuality
should linger in every word-and don't miss describing the connection between
strong-willed individuals learning to trust and love one another. Keep in
mind there must be a romantic element with a happy-for-now or
happy-ever-after ending. Strong plots, engaging characters, and unique
twists are the ultimate goal. Please no reprints. These must be original
stories.

How to submit: Prepare your 1,500 to 4,500 words story in a double-spaced,
Arial, 12 point, black font document with pages numbered (.doc, NOT.docx) OR
rich text format. Indent the first line of each paragraph half an inch and
double space (regular double spacing, do not add extra lines between
paragraphs or do any other irregular spacing). US grammar (double quotation
marks around dialogue, etc.) is required.

In your document at the top left of the page, include your legal name (and
pseudonym if applicable), mailing address, and 50 words or less bio in the
third person to realsexobjects@ gmail.com. If you are using a pseudonym,
please provide your real name and pseudonym and make it clear which one
you'd like to be credited as. Authors may submit up to 2 stories. Delilah
will respond in December 2013. The publisher has final approval over the
stories included in the manuscript.

Payment will be $50.00 USD and two copies of the published book upon
publication.

About the editor: Ms. Devlin has published over a hundred and twenty stories
in multiple sub-genres and lengths with Atria/Strebor, Avon, Berkley, Black
Lace, Cleis Press, Ellora's Cave, Kensington, Kindle, Montlake Romance,
Running Press, and Samhain Publishing. In Fall 2011, she debuted her first
anthology with Cleis Press, GIRLS WHO BITE. Since then, she has published
SHE SHIFTERS and COWBOY LUST. SMOKIN' HOT FIREFIGHTERS and HIGH OCTANE
HEROES release in summer 2013.

Direct any questions you have regarding your story or the submission process
to Delilah at realsexobjects@ gmail.com.

End of a TransFix Era

When Claudia at loveyoudivine and I were brainstorming names for their line of authentic transgender erotic fiction and romance, I came up with "TransFixation"... or "TransFix" for short.  Seemed like the absolute perfect name.

I proudly told my girlfriend, and her response was, "Nah, I don't like it.  Sounds like you're trying to fix trans people."

"What? No, transfix... like it's transfixing fiction!  Aww, never mind. We're going with it."

Seems like only weeks ago, but it's been a number of years that loveyoudivine's been publishing my trans fiction.

And now the sad news: loveyoudivine is closing its doors at the end of Pride Month.

You still have a chance to get your hands on my authentic, erotic, and award-winning transgender fiction.  It's discounted by 25% at lyd's website: http://www.loveyoudivine.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=66&zenid=9c909ba96da7dc1be7030887740156b4

Buy now, because some of these titles might never make it back on to the market.

In particular, you might want to grab my award-winning The Red Satin Collection in print: http://www.amazon.com/Red-Satin-Collection-Giselle-Renarde/dp/1600546382/ref=tmm_pap_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1324715462&sr=1-1

My Mistress' Thighs received an honourable mention in the Rainbow Awards, and it's also available to purchase in paperback edition at Amazon

Call For Submissions: Femme Dominant Lesbian Erotica

I don't want to stress you out or anything, but here's another call for submissions from D. L. King:

She Who Must Be Obeyed: Femme Dominant Lesbian Erotica
Edited by D. L. King
To be published by Lethe Press
Deadline: August 19, 2013
Payment: $50 plus 2 copies of the anthology
D. L. King wants to read about dominant femmes.
There’s something about a hot, sexy woman in a pencil skirt, flawlessly made-up, wielding a riding crop.  Well, I think there is.  I know, for me, sometimes it’s hard to decide between the black leather pencil skirt and the black rubber one.  You know what I mean.  I’m talking about a woman worshipped by girls, bois and butch bottoms, alike; I’m not particular – well, not that particular.
Tell me stories about women who can silence a room simply by entering it.  What’s it like when a mere glance can make you weak in the knees and a stare will put you in your place – at her feet.  I’m looking for power exchange as seen from either the femme’s point of view or her worshipper’s.
Tell me about torture and about goddess worship. Tell me about pleasing and being pleased.  I want stories with sexy lingerie and boxer briefs, strap-ons and bound bodies.  I want to hear about crops and whips, corsets and trousers, fingers and tongues.  You know what I want; I want to sweat.  Of course, it should go without saying that characters must be at least 18, no scat and no snuff.  Just make me happy—and damp.
Stories should be between 2,500 and 4,000 words, double-spaced, 12 pt Times New Roman. Please indent the first line of each paragraph one-half inch and do not include extra lines between paragraphs. No fancy fonts, no weird sizes, no bizarre formatting, no strange colors, please. Do not put a cover sheet on your story.
Send your story as a .doc (NOT a .docx) attachment and include the title, pseudonym (if applicable) and your legal name and mailing address to femmeantho@gmail.com. The subject line should read: Submission: TITLE. Please include a 50 word bio. Direct any questions to the same address. (If you are absolutely unable to send a .doc attachment, I will accept an rtf.)

Please cross post, anywhere and everywhere!

Am I A Bad Queer?

I'm wondering if I'll even go to Pride this year.  Depression seems to be turning my rainbow a little grey these days.  Also, I tend to hyperventilate in crowds and I don't feel comfortable around drunk people.  So a world-class parade is a little tricky for me.

In recent years, I've attended Toronto Pride more to buck the powers-that-be than to celebrate my queerness.  The day our homophobic (and now notorious) mayor Rob Ford was elected, I felt like I was living in a different city.  Who voted for this guy?  I thought this was such a queer-friendly place to live.

That year (two years ago, I think?), the unflushable Mayor Tweedledum upset us queers by refusing to attend Pride.  He didn't even go to the goddamn rainbow flag-raising ceremony at City Hall.  Doood, it's right outside your fucking office!  Are you kidding me?

So I made sure to attend the Pride Parade that year, as a show of solidarity.  I hadn't gone in probably ten years, but I wanted to stand up and be counted.  Political action.  I'm here, I'm queer, I hate Rob Ford.  That sort of thing.

Last week I tweeted about how I sometimes feel like I'm NOT QUEER ENOUGH.  Like I'm a BAD QUEER.  And a big part of that feeling comes from not being a party person.  I don't drink or do drugs.  I don't go to bars or clubs.  There are so many aspects of (what's generally understood to be) queer culture I'm just not a part of.  Hell, I'm not even a big fan of parades!  If I don't get my shit together, I'm gonna be kicked out of the club.

But I yams what I yams: a quiet queer.

This Pride, maybe I'll just go to the street festival.  I like the supporting queer vendors.  I like being around other queer people.  Everyone's so cheerful all weekend.  Total strangers wish you Happy Pride just for walking by. It's nice.

So, am I a bad queer if I don't go to the Parade? I feel like I am.  But the route gets packed and I'm so short I usually can't see much anyway. Last year I slathered on SPF 85 and still got sunburnt.

On the other hand, I love the parade's inclusiveness and diversity--the very qualities our mayor would probably like to wipe from the face of our city.

Families come to Pride.  All kinds of people do.  Last year, I stood next to two middle-aged men in turbans and an elderly Asian woman.  Man oh man, you should have seen that lady jump for joy when the Trojan guys started tossing out condoms!

Damn... I think I just talked myself back into going.

Wild Nights in Niagara (and a chance to win!)

This is the actual jacuzzi tub in Niagara Falls
When I saw Sacchi Green's call for Wild Girls, Wild Nights: True Lesbian Sex Stories, I knew exactly which night I wanted to write about.

It wasn't simply the night--it was the rose petals swirling around a jacuzzi tub in Niagara Falls. I wrote about the days and nights that surrounded my swirling rose petals because... because... well, because that's the way it happened, I guess.

My contribution to Wild Girls, Wild Nights is called Ring of Roses.

I often write stories based on real life events, but I can't remember another one in which I've exposed myself so blatantly.  And I'm not just talking about my actions and behaviours, here.  After that weekend in Niagara Falls, I wrote up a little blog post about the trip.  Those were the facts.  This short story goes into the reasons behind the trip.  It exposes my true vulnerability.  I'm not sure that I come off smelling like a rose in Ring of Roses.

Read an excerpt:

I spent three hours crying in her bed.

She was right there, snoring beside me, yet I couldn’t get past the gnawing sensation that she’d never be mine, not entirely. Her house was full of meaningful knickknacks and mementoes, little reminders of a marriage that, in my mind, would never cease to exist. Was there really room for me?

There were photographs everywhere, in every room. Why so goddamn many photographs? Why did I have to look at them? Or, better yet, why couldn’t I see past them? I’m the girl who’s sleeping in her bed, the girl she chats with every night, the girl she pulls into the shower with her, and that’s all that matters. I tried to comfort myself with those thoughts, but I guess I savoured my sadness too much. There were certain things neither of us would release—Danielle had her pictures, I had my pain.

Danielle had told me many times that I was being juvenile, and I knew she was right, but I could never reconcile my emotions. “I don’t know why you let things get to you,” she often said. “Let my actions speak for me.”

But I only saw her inactions. I only saw the photographs still hanging on the wall. That’s why I booked the couples’ package in Niagara Falls, complete with kingsize bed, in-room Jacuzzi tub, and a dozen red roses. We still had a few more days we’d committed to spending together, and I just couldn’t stand another night in her bed, haunted by those all-too-real pictures of a ghost marriage. Instead, I would whisk my girl off on a surprise getaway for two. Perfect.

I guess I could have told this story as a sickly sweet romance with me as the gallant sugar mama. It still would have been objectively true, but it wouldn’t have been the complete and unadulterated truth. If I’m going for honesty I might as well go all the way, even if the reality makes me seem immature and a little bit crazy.

And now a word from our editor:

We’ll be featuring one story a day from the book through June 22, and anyone who comments on any of the posts will be entered in a drawing for one of three free copies of the anthology. You can comment on more than one post and be entered more than once.

A Fond Farewell: loveyoudivine (lyd) Alterotica is Closing

Some sad news today: loveyoudivine (lyd) Alterotica is going out of business at the end of the month.

When publishing houses close down, they're usually mired in shame and controversy, but that's not the case with lyd. It's a health-related closure.  Authors, publisher, editors--we're all still friends and very supportive of one another.  The people at lyd are some of the best I've worked with in this industry.

loveyoudivine has always published alternative erotica that pushed the envelope in one way or another.  They created the TransFix line to showcase authentic transgender fiction. Their books have won awards. In fact, My Mistress' Thighs, my anthology of transgender erotica, received an honourable mention in the 2011 Rainbow Awards and my trans lesbian erotic romance The Red Satin Collection took top prize in the same category in 2012.  Both books were published by lyd.

If you want to get your hands on my lyd fiction (well, not just mine--
authors like Barry Lowe, Dirk Vanden, Ryan Field, Bryn Colvin, Dalia Craig, and Jay Lancaster), you've still got a chance, but your window of opportunity is closing, so act fast!

All books on the lyd site are 25% off for the rest of June, so if you're thinking of making a purchase, don't delay!  In July, they won't be around anymore.

Three of my books from lyd (Kinksters, The Red Satin Collection, and My Mistress' Thighs) are available in print at Amazon and I can't promise they will re-appear in print in the future.  BUY NOW!

Goodnight, Sweet lyd.

Oh, and apparently I made this book trailer for My Mistress' Thighs (I honestly have no recollection of creating this LOL):

Call for Submissions: The Big Book of Domination

I can't keep up with all the calls for submissions these days!  The following comes from the 2013 Lambda Award-winning D. L. King:

I have a new call for submissions.  Please feel free to cross post anywhere and everywhere.  Also, I'll have a call for lesbian erotica in a couple of days, so keep watching this space!

The Big Book of Domination
Edited by D. L. King
To be published by Cleis Press
Deadline: August 1, 2013
Payment: $50 plus 2 copies of the anthology

D. L. King is looking for sexy stories of domination in all its various nuances and permutations.  I’m talking about those who were born to be dominant and those who had dominance thrust upon them; men dominating women and women dominating men, as well as same-sex domination. Write about pros and amateurs (in the strictest sense of the word, as in “lover of…”)  Write about married folks and hook ups.  Write about subs made to train that new, young, household addition. See if you can surprise me; think of something I wouldn’t, but do it artfully. Bottom line?  It has to be hot.

This is the Big Book of Dominance, so I want it all.  Stories from the dominant’s point of view and stories from the submissive’s point of view.  Stories about jaded pros remembering what that first spark was all about and stories about new guys, just learning the ropes.  This book will be primarily straight but, like I said, I’m interested in a few gay, lesbian and bi stories, too.  It should go without saying that characters must be at least 18, no scat, no snuff and, just so you know, I'm not a big fan of water sports.  (That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the occasional artfully told enema story)  Just make me happy--make me wet.

Stories should be between 1,500 and 3,500 words, double-spaced, 12 pt Times New Roman. Please indent the first line of each paragraph one-half inch and do not include extra lines between paragraphs. No fancy fonts, no weird sizes, no bizarre formatting, no strange colors, please. Do NOT put a cover sheet on your story.

Send your story as a .doc (NOT a .docx) attachment and include the title, pseudonym (if applicable) and your legal name and mailing address to dominantantho@ gmail.com.  The subject line should read: Submission: STORY TITLE. Please include a bio of 50 words or less. Direct any questions to the same address. Original stories only. (If you are absolutely unable to send a .doc attachment, I will accept an rtf.)

Hope to hear from you,

New Lesbian Anthology: Anything She Wants (FREE for a limited time!)

For everyone who's lamented the absence of lesbian erotica from most publishers' anthology rosters lately, here's one you just might like: Anything She Wants.

In the office, on the set of a movie or on the bathroom floor, the ladies in this anthology don't care where they get it on. Power play, first time encounters and office rivalry get the characters in these twelve stories so riled up, the only way to go is down and dirty. Tales of spanking, a wild all-female college party and a waitress with a strap-on grace the pages of Ladylit's first multi-author lesbian erotica anthology.

Caution: Reading 'Anything She Wants' will make you wet!

Stories by Kay Jaybee, Laila Blake, Lucy Felthouse, Erzabet Bishop, Sarah Ellen, L.C. Spoering, Vanessa de Sade, Kelly Lawrence, Giselle Renarde, Alyssa Linn Palmer, Ariel Graham and Harper Bliss

Table of contents

My story in this collection is called "Debbie Does Dalhousie."  Haha.  No, really.  It is.  It's about a woman who takes her son to university and ends up in a super-hot foursome with three college girls.  Woo-hoo!

Excerpt from Debbie Does Dalhousie:

Wednesday asked, “So, Debbie, have you ever fucked a girl before?”
Debbie’s breath caught in her throat.  “Well, I… I…”
“Oh, she has!” Mimi giggled.  “Look, she’s blushing!”
“I am not blushing.”  Debbie covered her cheeks with both hands.  “No, I’ve never fucked a girl.  I kissed a girl once…”
“And she liked it!” the girls sang as they hopped down the sidewalk.
“I don’t know, I suppose I did.”  Debbie was beginning to feel very flustered, and too old for this.  “It was a long time ago.  I hardly even remember.”
Wednesday stopped in front of her, face to face, blocking her path.  “Then we’ll have to remind you.”
Debbie swallowed hard.  ‘Not here,’ she kept thinking.  ‘Don’t kiss me in the street where anyone could see.’
Wednesday smiled, almost like she could hear Debbie’s plea.  When she turned around and kept walking, Debbie followed along.  She was scared as hell, sure, but she wanted this.

Mammoth Book of Lesbian Erotic Stories

The Mammoth Book of Lesbian Erotic Stories, edited by Barbara Cardy

Seriously hot lesbian erotica from the top writers in the field – Olivia London, Lynn Lake, Catherine Lundoff, Eva Hore, Kannan Feng and Lucy Felthouse to name just a few. There are no fewer than 42 superbly-written stories in this bumper collection.

• Chloe wasn’t the least bit worried about her job performance evaluation – sure, she was the bottom performer in terms of sales, but as she put it, ‘What a spankingly fine bottom it is!’
• Wanting to get away from sexual temptation Natalie takes a job teaching exercise in a health hydro but fellow instructor Jade introduces her to some delicious extra-curricular activity . . .
• While Little Lucy was licking her out in their shared cell, one of the top dogs was planning her fight with the Dragon Lady, but losing would mean a total humiliation in front of all the prison’s bottom feeders.
• Tanya’s a shy girl, but her girlfriend knows exactly what shy girls need and she’s willing to use some very unfair tactics to get her way.
• Emma was no stranger to BDSM, but being kidnapped by an unknown number of strangers was too much.
• Rose is the perfect desperate housewife – rich, pampered and bored! She’s given a thrill when a young sales assistant does more than measure her inner thigh – she spreads them wide.
• Amanda is a prim and proper librarian who fills her days stacking books and her evenings playing with herself under her desk.
• Little Kaylee seeks an older woman’s advice about her recent love troubles, but the sensitive talk session soon becomes a show and tell.

Excerpt:

Adele peered out of her front window. Yes, there they were again. Donna and Josie, linking arms and chatting away. Just a few short weeks ago, Adele would have been part of that conversation.

But now, inexplicably, it seemed she was no longer in the inner circle. The two women had scaled back their invites for afternoon tea, their book club meetings weren’t so frequent and Adele felt as though she was being deliberately excluded. And she had no idea why. There’d been no falling out, no cross words, nothing.

Adele decided she wasn’t going to take it any more. If she was going to be ignored and left out, she at least wanted to know why.

Watching the pair head into Josie’s house across the street without so much as a glance in the direction of her house, Adele drew away from the window.

Hurrying, so as to not lose her nerve, Adele slipped on her sandals, left the house and pulled the front door shut behind her. She walked across the quiet street. It was a cul-de-sac, so there was no thru-traffic; and, it being the middle of the day, most people were at work, including the husbands of herself and the other two women. The lack of other company during the day was what had originally brought the three women together, but now it seemed Adele was surplus to requirements. Blinking back angry tears, Adele stomped across to Josie’s house, ready for a confrontation. Once she got closer, however, she noticed something amiss. Despite the time of day, the living room blinds were closed. The sun wasn’t even at this side of the house yet, so that wasn’t the reason.

Intrigued, Adele crept closer. Lots of wild thoughts began to run through her head. They were obviously up to something they wanted to keep secret. But what? Extra-marital activity? Criminal activity? Or worse?
Determined to get answers, Adele walked right up to the window. The ladies obviously hadn’t been too careful when they’d drawn the blinds. One of the slats had caught on something on the window sill and it wasn’t quite flush to the others, creating a gap. A gap perfect for peering through. Begging to be peered through.

Never one to pass up an opportunity, Adele gingerly peeked through the hole, half expecting one of the girls to be looking back, glaring angrily at the intrusion. She needn’t have worried. There was nobody there. Not right by the window, anyway. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness of the room, Adele could make out shapes moving in the room, over by the sofa.

On the sofa, she realised, as her brain caught up with what her eyes were seeing. There were two people on the couch, and they were…
