Chicken Soup for the Soul: Find Your Inner Strength
101 Empowering Stories of Resilience, Positive Thinking, and Overcoming Challenges
PLEASE NOTE TITLE CHANGE from "Overcoming Challenges"
If you submitted a story for "Overcoming Challenges", we have it — no need to resubmit!
We're all stronger than we think, and we often discover that inner strength and resilience when a problem arises. Our writers surprise us with their ability to overcome challenges and find their inner strength. It is amazing how people persevere, find hope, and use positive thinking in situations they never dreamed would happen to them. What challenges have you faced in your life, and what did you do to overcome then? Are you dealing with health problems? Have you had financial difficulties? Have you survived the loss of a loved one? What changes did you make to help you cope with these adversities and turn negative into positive?
Here are some suggested topics but we know you can think of many more:
• Triumph over tragedy
• Coping after the death of a loved one
• Managing financial problems
• Surviving natural disasters
• Turning negative into positive
• Thriving after divorce
• Finding the silver linings
• Prevailing over an illness or medical condition
• Living with a chronic or terminal disease or disability
• Overcoming an addiction
• Using positive thinking
• Finding happiness despite your challenges
Please remember, we no longer publish "as told to" stories. Please write in the first person about yourself or someone close to you. If you ghostwrite a story for someone else we will list that person's name as the author. If a story was previously published, we will probably not use it unless it ran in a small circulation venue. Let us know where the story was previously published in the "Comments" section of the submission form. If the story was published in a past Chicken Soup for the Soul book, please do not submit it.
If your story is chosen, you will be a published author and your short bio will be printed in the book if you so choose. You will also receive a check for $200 and 10 free copies of your book, which retails for $14.95 per copy. You will retain the copyright for your story and you will retain the right to resell it.
SUBMISSIONS GO TO OUR WEBSITE chickensoup.com. Select the Submit Your Story link on the left tool bar and follow the directions.
