This Is Not A Pleasant Topic

Cybertip.ca is a tipline run by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection.  These are the people you go to when you find images or evidence of the sexual exploitation of children online.  They receive on average 1,000 reports and 75,000 page views per month, and send the information you give them on to the proper authorities.

I'm not going to preach too much, because quite frankly thinking about this stuff makes me sick.  If you stumble upon child "pornography" (it's not porn--it's images of ABUSE, pure and simple), or evidence of online luring, exploitation through prostitution or trafficking, etc. go to cypertip.ca and report it.

On a personal note (yes, I know I said I wouldn't preach), a very dear friend of mine was sexually exploited as a child.  This was before internet-times, but she will never live down the shame of knowing her image still exists out there in the world.  Fortunately, the authorities were able to track down and prosecute the people who hurt her, but she's fucked up for life thanks to them.

You CAN make a difference.  I know it sounds cheesy, but seriously--this stuff isn't make-believe.  These are real children (they could be your neighbours, your friends' kids, your neices and nephews or even your own babies) and they deserve justice.

Fight for them.
