Narcissist Seeks Narcissist: A Lesbian Romantic Comedy

This is a book I wrote because, like 86% of the planet, I've got a huge crush on Joanna Lumley. So I fictionalized her, turned her into a lesbian, and put her in this erotic comedy.

Ahh... how one can dream...

Narcissist Seeks Narcissist
by Giselle Renarde

Szuszu the former model has survived on women and scotch since she was just a teenager. All these years, she's had her best friend Babette by her side, but now that Babette is married and setting off on a world tour, Szuszu feels utterly abandoned. As a pre-departure joke, Babette writes up a silly and snide little personal ad, which narcissistic Szuszu posts in hopes of attracting a woman who looks just like she did when she was young.

Naomi thinks Szuszu's post is hilarious -- what a great sense of humor! She can hardly believe the centrefold she stole from her dad's collection way back in the day is looking for love. It's not like her to answer a personal ad, but for the infamous Szuszu she'll make an exception. She thinks Szuszu looks fantastic, and Szuszu (who refuses to wear her glasses) thinks Naomi looks just like her. What could ensue but sex, love, and a whole lot of comedy?

Ondine la ballerine has returned!

My novella Ondine: A Tale of Art and Deception was originally published in 2008.  I mentioned the other day on Twitter that I remember shopping this book around for maybe a year or two, trying to sell it to any small press that would look at bisexual erotica.

I can't tell you exactly how many times Ondine was rejected, but it felt like a lot--and it stung, because I was a new author.

What I realize now, all these many year later, is how grateful I am to all the editors who rejected Ondine, because they helped me shape it into the much better novella it ultimately became.  My rejections were always accompanied by suggestions about how I could get the book to flow better, and how I could make it more satisfying for readers. I made a lot of changes before it became the book it was in its first edition.

And I've made even more changes since then.

When I opened up the file to take what I thought would be an excruciating pass at it before republishing (the book was formerly published by Excessica), I realized I had actually done a pretty thorough overhaul a few years ago, before including it in a collection I was putting together.  This was a few years ago, but I'd completely forgotten all the work I'd done. So Ondine was actually in much better shape than I imagined.

The editing process for this new edition was much easier and more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Ondine was the first thing I ever wrote that wasn't a short story, so I thought it would be terrible. It's not! It's a great little book, and the plot keeps you guessing.

Ondine is back on the market, and I invite you to read it today! Available as an ebook and in print!

Novice painter Evelyn Fon gets more attention than she bargained for after receiving her first big commission with the brand new Drinkwater Hotel. Who would have guessed Gavin Drinkwater, heir to the family fortune, would take such a keen personal interest in her?

But when Evelyn arrives at the hotel's elegant gala celebration, she soon discovers she's there as a date for Gavin Drinkwater Senior, her crush's elitist—albeit incredibly handsome—father!

In an attempt to escape the party, not to mention her embarrassment, Evelyn stumbles upon Gavin's mother, Imelda. Over a bottle of champagne, Imelda tells the tale of her torrid lesbian love affair with a young ballerina named Ondine. But, as Evelyn soon finds out from the Drinkwater patriarch, there's more deception to her love story than even Imelda is aware.

Can Evelyn uncover the truths buried in the past and reunite Gavin's estranged free-loving parents? And will her role in the drama earn her a place in the heart of the bashful heir?

A sensual journey through the worlds of ballet, art, and passionate liaisons, Ondine is a pansexual exploration wrapped in a boy-meets-girl tale of mix-ups and misunderstandings.

Ondine is available now from a number of ebook retailers, and coming soon to even more!

Country Girl, City Lights #NewAdult #Romantic #Novella

Cover art depicts the silhouette of a young woman against city lights at night
Ten years ago, I wrote a book called The Rococo Room. It didn't make much of a splash, but I still think it has a chance. So I revised it and gave a new image, new cover, new title: Country Girl, City Lights.

Perhaps you'll have a read? Particularly because it's on sale now, during Smashwords' Read an Ebook Week sale (March 1-7, 2020) for only $1! Might as well give it a try, right? (That low price only applies at Smashwords, btw.)

When bad boy Matt leaves the small town of Port Canatangua, Delia follows him to the big city.  Delia’s crazy about Matt, and refuses to believe the rumours surrounding his departure.  As soon as he finds a good job, he’s sure to get in touch.  Until then, Delia takes a dingy little apartment and a position as a security guard at the art gallery.  When she falls asleep on the job and finds herself inside a painting alongside Jacob the handsome shepherd, she tells herself it’s just a crazy hallucination.  What better place than a dream to find the man of her dreams?

Previously published as “The Rococo Room.”

A Playlist for Cherry #NewAdult #MayDecember #Erotica

Remember how much I love music?

Last year I put together a playlist on YouTube, of songs that fit the mood of my novel In Shadow.

https://donutsdesires.blogspot.com/2015/02/randombookiwrote-wednesday-cherry.html
Today I've done the same for my book Cherry.

While In Shadow was dark and brooding, Cherry is really rather cheery. And so is the music I've selected for this playlist. I've been working on it for over a year, jotting down any song that matched the tone of Cherry: playful, saucy, and teasingly seductive.

It's mostly indie rock with a hint of the 80s. Or maybe it's the other way around. There's a lot of music from the 80s in there. Actually, I'll tell you why, while I have you on the line: a lot of the 70s and 80s music is stuff we listen to at the cottage. We always tune the radio to Moose FM, and that whole station just reminds me of summertime and family vacations. Since Cherry is set in the summertime (and during a family vacation), the radio station and this novel have sort of fused in my mind. You can also blame the Moose for the Bare Naked Ladies song on this playlist. Or thank them, depending on your level of affection for the group.

Anyway, you can buy Cherry anywhere ebooks are sold. It's also available in print.

If you're a little light on cash, you can also read Cherry at Wattpad: https://www.wattpad.com/story/119783265-cherry

Just make sure to have my special playlist on in the background. It doesn't sync up to Cherry (or to The Wizard of Oz), but would you believe me if I said it did?

https://donutsdesires.blogspot.com/2015/02/randombookiwrote-wednesday-cherry.html
“What about you, Phil? Are you desperate enough for a blow-up doll?”

Recently-divorced Phil is the last man in the world who should turn Cherry’s head. He’s her father’s best friend, for goodness’ sake! Their love is forbidden, but the forest isn’t big enough to keep two lovelorn people apart… even if they’re totally wrong for each other.

Cherry is an erotic New Adult novel from award-winning author Giselle Renarde. Read it absolutely FREE at Wattpad https://www.wattpad.com/story/119783265-cherry

And listen to my fun and exciting playlist! I made it to connect with you, human to human, ear to ear, through music.

By Hand: Good Bi Valentine

The first piece of erotic fiction I wrote has been through numerous incarnations. I believe it was first published in pieces, as three short stories. I want to say it was published by Ruthie's Club, but I'm not 100% sure that's true. Over the past 10 years I've written hundreds, maybe thousands of stories. I've honestly lost count.

But this was the the first: an erotic comedy about a building superintendent having sex with a variety of tenants on Valentine's Day.

http://www.excessica.com/books/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20&products_id=527&zenid=e6433593597cfe3ed4ec0efbe3dc66ff

This novelette has gone by many names over the years. These days, you can call it Good Bi Valentine.

Warning: This title contains m/f and f/f sex, mild BDSM, and graphic descriptions of cheesy 1980’s porn, including but not limited to fluorescent and animal print bikinis.

#MySexySaturday Shadow People

This week's My Sexy Saturday theme is Late Summer Sexy, which suits my novelette Shadow People pretty perfectly. It's summer in the North, and my paranormal investigator is approaching her last days in this world. In THIS world. The shadow world... well, that's another story.

Actually, it's THIS story: Shadow People.

Traditional stories tell of Inuit who have crossed into the shadow world. No one has ever returned…

Paranormal Investigator Anna Fairclough hasn't had much luck getting interesting assignments. When her boss, Gentle Geoff, picks her to investigate the existence of the elusive Inuit Shadow People, Anna jumps for joy. When he decides to come along for the trip, she's over the moon!

But when their attempts to find the legendary Shadow People fail at every turn, Geoff doesn't seem so gentle anymore. In fact, he blames Anna for their failure. Will the novice parapsychologist ever discover the secret of the Shadow People? And have rumours of their shyness been greatly exaggerated?

Since it's My Sexy Saturday, I'm sharing a 7-paragraph excerpt:

“The Shadow People, or Tarriaksuit as they are known…”

“Read in your head,” Sully interrupted.

Anna batted her lashes, then bobbed her head like a sardonic I Dream of Jeannie. “Yes, master.”

The Shadow People, or Tarriaksuit as they are known to the Inuit, are elemental beings described in the mythological systems of the Canadian North. Shadow People are commonly believed to inhabit a world parallel to ours, existing beyond the realm of human sense perception. Disembodied speaking or laughing are often attributed to these beings, as are sounds of footsteps in the distance.

Historically, only the most intuitive residents of the North have felt the presence of the allegedly shy Shadow People. Traditional stories tell of Inuit who have crossed into the other world. No one has ever returned. No solid research yet exists in the annals of parapsychological investigation to confirm or deny this type of report.

“This actually doesn’t sound so bad,” Anna said, more to herself than to Sully. She didn’t think he’d bother listening. “Did you read my Shadow People assignment, Sully? My research could be ground-breaking.”

“If your investigation yields any results,” he muttered. “And that’s a big if.”

#RandomBookIWrote Wednesday: Forbidden Folk

When Winter Green’s estranged mother dies, the two remaining members of her folk trio plead with Winter to come on tour. No way! Winter grew up on a tour bus. She’s got a different life now. She can’t go back.

She can never go back.

But Steven and Virginia hold one secret nobody else knows: the true identity of Winter’s mysterious father. Will her desire to meet him be enough to bring her back to the folk music fold? Or will it take forbidden love for her late mother’s bandmates to convince Winter to return to the life she fled at fifteen?

An erotic novelette from award-winning author Giselle Renarde.

Forbidden Folk
A Polyamorous Romance Novelette
by Giselle Renarde

Read an Excerpt:

“Steven?” I asked.

His hand cocooned mine. “Yes, Winter?”

“Did you ever think about…?”

He turned onto his side, so his chest was so close it grazed my tender nipples. When he spoke, I felt his breath against my lips. “Think about what, Winter?”

I couldn’t ignore the throb between my legs. I couldn’t fight it any longer. I barely had to move to kiss him, and that’s just what I did. Or did he kiss me? We moved for each other’s mouths simultaneously, opening to one another. His tongue swept mine into a frenzy as we gave in to the desire my mother had forbidden.

She must be spinning in her grave.

#RandomBookIWrote Wednesday: Bali Nights

Here's a book I decided to write while watching a documentary about male sex workers catering to female clients on the beaches of Bali. Come to think of it, a lot of book ideas come to me while I'm watching documentaries.

Erotic romance by Giselle Renarde explores lust and sexual fantasies on the sandy shores of Bali...

Do Beach Boys really exist? They’re said to be hot young surfers who sell their bodies on the sandy shores of Bali—and not to other men, oh no. Beach Boys specialize in seducing women.

According to Kimmy, Beach Boys are not only real, but they’re Bali’s top tourist attraction. And she should know, considering she hired one last time she vacationed there. How she convinced co-worker Shandra to fly halfway around the world just to pay a guy for sex, Shandra will never know… until their first day in Bali, when she falls for Man: tall, dark, handsome, and on the make.

There’s something different about Man—he’s nothing like the guys back home. Shandra can tell him things she’s never shared with anyone, shed her inhibitions, and abandon herself to the best sex of her life. Now she understands why Kimmy was so anxious to return to her Beach Boy, Budi.

With Man’s encouragement, Shandra surrenders to a lust for men (and women) she’s long denied. But there’s more to a Beach Boy than meets the eye. Are Budi and Man really as trustworthy as Shandra and Kimmy think, or will their secrets shatter the girls forever?

#RandomBookIWrote Wednesday: Anonymous

This is my most explicitly Toronto-centric book to date--aside from The Other Side of Ruth, which is even MORE Toronto-centric than Anonymous. Read Anonymous now to get your fill of Toronto fiction!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G4GBSD6?tag=dondes-20
Hannah and her husband Nathaniel have always shared one particular fantasy—he wants to make love with another man, and she wants to watch.

When Hannah loses her job to a crumbling economy, she soon finds that an idle mind is indeed “the devil’s playground.” She latches onto the delectably naughty idea of bringing a third into the bedroom, but inviting a man they both know to join them could have far-reaching negative consequences. What they need is someone else. Someone anonymous.

After a hot night of ménage sex with a stunning escort, Hannah becomes obsessed with finding out the identity of their mystery male. Even when Nathaniel unexpectedly introduces another vibrant young man into their relationship, Hannah remains possessed by her fixation.

To what lengths will Hannah go to discover the real identity of "Mr. Anonymous?"

ANONYMOUS by Giselle Renarde

EXCERPT

...“I want to suck another man’s cock,” he said.

She smiled. “I want to watch you.”

“I bet you do.”

After setting her glass down on the coffee table, Hannah crossed her bare legs over her husband’s lap and laughed. “I can’t believe we’re talking like this. It’s so naughty!”

She ran her fingers down the front of his already unbuttoned shirt and leaned in to kiss his neck. He smelled like wet pine after coming in from the rain. She kissed him again, kissed his cheek this time. Every peck left a pink mark on his flesh. Tonight, she’d paint him with lipstick. Her lips would be her brush, and his skin her canvas. She’d been waiting all day, and now this dirty talk was gearing her up for an evening to remember.

“Sorry again about dinner,” she said with a deliberate pout.

Nathaniel shrugged. “Hey, it’s not your fault the power went out. I wasn’t all that hungry anyway.” Leaning toward the coffee table, he stacked some cheese onto a cracker and popped it in his mouth. Hannah felt awful that finger food was the best she could do after promising him a meal to die for. She nuzzled his chest as he chewed. From the time he’d walked through the door, she suspected it wasn’t food Nathaniel had on his mind. Her husband wasn’t usually a dirty talker, but he’d sure gotten into it tonight. Maybe it was the candles. The whole atmosphere of the power outage fostered creativity.

“What else do you want?” she asked. “If we had another man here right now, what would you do to him?”

Nathaniel made an Mmm sound deep in his throat as Hannah pulled his shirttails from his navy blue trousers. “Are you undressing me?” he asked.

“Are you avoiding the question?” she answered.

He kissed her forehead, leaving a dab of wet warmth in his wake. “Have you ever known me to avoid questions?” He chuckled as she pushed his shirt down over his shoulders and teased his pert nipple with her tongue. “Oh, you do have a talent for that.”

“You like it, huh?” She leaned across his chest and bit the other nipple as it stood erect. “Well, then, you’d better keep talking, mister. I want to see it in my mind.” Sitting up beside him, Hannah looked out across the candlelit living room. Her gaze fell into the rocking chair under the vast window of the sunroom extension. “If there was a handsome young man, like that guy Jameson from your office…if he was sitting in that rocking chair over there, what would you do to him?”

“What would I do?”

“Yes, what would you do?” Hannah chuckled as Nathaniel rose from the couch and wandered toward the window. “I’m waiting for an answer, Mister ‘I’m secure in my masculinity.’ How would you make that boy come?”

Nathaniel set his thick fingers against the shining oak of the rocking chair. With his back to Hannah, he raised his head to the raindrops drizzling down the great window. She hoped the electricity would never come back on; this naughtiness was much more entertaining than anything on television. Her insides sizzled.

Turning, Nathaniel met Hannah’s gaze from across the room. “If he was sitting in this chair right here?”

Hannah squirmed in her seat. Her panties were wet just thinking about charming Jameson, the young gay go-getter in the grey cubicle across from her husband’s. “Yes, if he was sitting there naked, all dark and delicious, what would you do to his flesh?”

“The first thing I would do,” Nathaniel replied, walking around the chair, “is touch his face.”

She squealed like a schoolgirl. “You would?” Grabbing a throw pillow, Hannah hugged it close to her chest. “Oh, I’d never have guessed that. Where on his face? And what would you touch him with?”

Nathaniel rolled his eyes. “With my finger, you little minx.” He looked down into the rocking chair as though Jameson were really seated there. “I would brush my index finger down his cheek.”

Hannah cooed at the thought. “I’ve never touched a black man’s stubble. I wonder what it would feel like. Would it be fuzzy, do you think, or sharp like yours?”

“I imagine it would feel like mine,” he said, running a hand across his blondish five o’clock shadow. Nathaniel had an exquisite face: a squared jaw, a dimpled chin, a Greek nose, and a scorching look in his grey eyes every time a dirty thought crossed his mind.

“What would you do next?” Hannah asked, squeezing the square pillow closer to her chest. “I’m sure you wouldn’t spend the whole night touching his face.”

Standing upright beside the rocking chair, Nathaniel stuck his thumb in the air and wriggled it. “I’d put this in his mouth.”

“Oooh…” Hannah chuckled. “I thought you were going somewhere else with that.”

Her idea seemed to bring a blush to her husband’s cheeks. Swinging her feet up onto the couch, she hid her smile behind the throw pillow and let out a throaty giggle. “Nathaniel, you’ve gone all shy on me!”

“Never,” he said with a wink...

Excerpt (from Knowing the Ropes):

Jansey squirmed against the rope, and against the ever-more-confining crotch of her one-piece spandex skipping outfit. Her pussy lips were thick and throbbing, and she’d give anything in the world to touch herself right now.

“You make it sound like I’m horny in a general way. I’m not. I’m only hot for…” Jansey lowered her eyes and her voice. “…only for you guys…”

Ruby and Beatriz chuckled deeply. They were holding each other now, and Ruby cooed, “You gotta beg for it, little sister.”

A glimmer of hope shot through Jansey’s embarrassment. “Oh, I beg you… please!”

Beatriz approached, inching slowly across the gymnasium. “Gotta do better than that, kid.”

Why did they always call her kid, little sister, little girl? All four of them were the same age, all in third year at university, and she wasn’t that much shorter than Ruby or Beatriz. Maybe it was her manner. Granted, she was a little more childish than the rest of them—gullible and naïve at times, too.

“Please,” Jansey said, this time with all the desperation she felt in her body. “I need you to touch me and kiss me and lick me in all the right places, like you did that night.”

“I don’t know,” Ruby teased. The three of them closed in, looming tall above her. “How can we be sure it’ll improve your performance?”

“It will!” Jansey cried. She felt anxious now, her skin itchy, clit pounding, like if they didn’t do it she would just die. Her heart hammered so loudly it was all she could hear. “Please…I promise…please…”

It's #RandomBookIWrote Wednesday! Heeere's Monstrous Obsession!

Wanna jump on my hashtag? #RandomBookIWrote: it'll here every Wednesday. If you're an author, feel free to copy. We'll make it a blog-hoppy sorta deal. I'm just going to post a random book I wrote every week. Starting now!

Monstrous Obsession
by Giselle Renarde
erotic romance + horror

Artemis has never relied on a man for anything. When she moves in with her biker boyfriend Budd and his teenaged son Vincent, she worries she’s losing her independence. Little does Artemis know the moment she sets foot inside Budd’s big house, family dynamics will be the least of her worries.

Something strange lives in Budd’s creaky old house, and it’s far more powerful than any human being. Artemis senses it watching her. She feels it when, out of the blue, a slimy monster tongue licks her neck. She watches it possess every man who looks her way. How could she anticipate the intense, horrific evil she would encounter in Budd’s home?

To save her new family from an obsessive monster, Artemis must learn to accept help from the man who loves her. Can she swallow her pride… before it’s too late?

An erotic novella with a generous helping of horror from award-winning author Giselle Renarde.

Excerpt:

Closing her eyes, Artemis rested against the wall, listening to Budd and Vincent’s deep voices somewhere in the house. She couldn’t hear what they were saying, but it was obviously about her. Sometimes she felt like she’d never be wanted anywhere she ended up.

That thought was pushed from her mind by a voice even deeper even than Budd’s. Growling, violently, it said, “You’re mine now.”

Artemis jumped up from the floor, looking all around the room. She felt like somebody was in there with her, but she couldn’t see anyone. Tentatively, she opened the large wooden wardrobe, half expecting one of Vincent’s squirrelly friends to jump out at her. It was empty, except for a little wooden box with strange words carved all around the sides. Curiosity erased the tension of the moment, but as she lifted the lid, shivers ran down her spine. The dread returned, even though the box was empty.

Something was in the room with her, watching her. She was sure of it. Something disturbing and malevolent. The hair stood up all along her arms. She felt like she’d been licked up and down her neck by a dirty old man, and she wiped it with the sleeve of her shirt, again and again, convinced she was removing someone’s saliva from her skin.

The bedroom door squealed open, and she screamed.

Budd chuckled. “Jumpy, jumpy!”

“Sorry, I thought I… heard something.” Artemis shook her head, then pressed the ill-fitting lid back on the wooden box. “I don’t know.”
